John Gough, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Barrow & Furness responded to criticisms made by John Woodcock, the Labour Party candidate over the ‘Never voted Tory’ before posters.
Mr. Gough said:
“Is this the best the Labour Party can come up with, complaining about a few posters?
I find it amazing that a parliamentary candidate thinks that this is an issue worthy of debating when there are so many more issues we could discuss.
For example instead of continually parroting his fantasy five year delay line Mr. Woodcock could actually answer the question by how many years does he expect the Trident Successor to have been delayed by the Labour Governments decision to delay the design phase and delay Astute?,
A second issue he may like to consider is to confirm that it is Labour Party policy to charge a ‘Death Tax’ on everyone to fund social care?
I think this little episode tells you a lot about our respective reasons for standing, I want to debate real issues, get to the facts and be as honest and open as I can with people, Mr. Woodcock prefers to get himself into a manufactured rage over a few posters. It will be up to the voters to decide in a few short weeks what type of person you want to represent you.”
