Once again the Royal Navy has come to our aid in helping to return stranded holiday makers following the volcano in Iceland. The ships diverted are HMS Ark Royal (Aircraft Carrier), HMS Ocean (Amphibious Helicopter Assault Ship) and HMS Albion (Amphibious Assault ship). Yet more proof of the intrinsic value of big surface ships, especially aircraft carriers.
